FAQ: choosing an electrolysis device
Answers to common questions about choosing an Apilus device. People call it many things — an electrolysis device, unit, machine or equipment — but it’s all the same.
Most beginners start with the Junior 3G: its 512 ready-made programs and core thermolysis and blend methods are enough for learning and for working with a small number of clients. If you plan a regular practice from day one, go straight for the Senior 3G — the full range of thermolysis and blend methods, 1,080 programs and 60 custom programs. For a heavy workload or facial work, consider the xCell Pur with its 27.12 MHz frequency.
27.12 MHz means twice as many cycles per second: a shorter pulse and faster coagulation. In practice, less heat reaches the surrounding tissue, treatments are shorter and clients are noticeably more comfortable, especially on the face and vellus hair. Junior 3G and Senior 3G run at 13.56 MHz; xCell Pur and xCell Pro at 27.12 MHz.
Thermolysis destroys the follicle with heat from high-frequency current. It is fast and comfortable, so it’s the basis for treating most hair. Blend combines galvanic current with thermolysis, acting chemically and thermally at once, so it works better on curved, distorted and resistant follicles, but takes longer. In practice, specialists switch between these modes within one treatment.
PicoFlash is thermolysis at 27.12 MHz with millisecond pulses. Energy is focused precisely at the base of the follicle, where the cells responsible for hair growth sit, and heat does not spread to the surrounding skin. Available on the xCell Pur and xCell Pro.
Yes. We are the official Dectro distributor in Poland: we have our own service centre in Warsaw, give a 36-month manufacturer’s warranty and train at Académie Dectro, ul. Kaliska 23. Most repairs are done on site, without sending equipment abroad.
